CHICAGO -- Taj Gibson led five players in double figures with 23 points and the Chicago Bulls brushed off a poor offensive first half to rally for an 89-77 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night. Kirk Hinrich had 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting, Mike Dunleavy scored 13, Jimmy Butler 12 and Joakim Noah added 10 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Gibson, who was 9 for 15 from the field, also had eight rebounds in 32 minutes off the bench. The Bulls (40-31) pulled within two percentage points of Toronto (39-30) for third place in the Eastern Conference. The win also prevented Indiana from clinching the Central Division title on Chicagos home court. The Pacers are looking to win consecutive division crowns for the second time since joining the NBA (1998-99 and 1999-2000). The Pacers, who were led by Paul Georges 21 points, have dropped three straight and six of eight on the road. Theyve lost four of five at the United Center, including both visits this season. The Pacers earned a 91-79 victory over the Bulls on Friday night at Indiana. With the NBAs top two defensive teams on the court, points figured to come at a premium, and that certainly was the case in the first half. Neither team managed to score 20 in either of the first two quarters, and the Pacers took a 34-33 halftime lead when George Hill (12 first-half points) hit a 3-pointer with 1.4 seconds left. The Bulls were 14 of 44 (31.8 per cent) from the field in the first half, including 1 for 10 on 3-pointers. Perhaps the most entertaining portion of the half came when the crowd got on Pacers centre Roy Hibbert for an apparent flop, a hot topic between the teams in recent days. On the play, Hibbert was fouled by Noah as he was beginning to go up for a shot attempt. While there definitely was enough contact to warrant a foul, it appeared to be light. Hibbert, though, dropped to the court flailing as if he had been hit by a flagrant foul. After the replay was shown on the scoreboard, the crowd began to boo. Noah stood off to the side with a big grin on his face. Following Fridays game in Indiana, Gibson accused the Pacers of flopping, and it was still the topic of conversation at the morning shootaround for both teams. "I mean, I havent taken a charge in probably four years," Hibbert said at the shootaround. "Hes entitled to his opinion. Im just going to go out there and play hard." The Bulls finally got into an offensive rhythm in the third quarter, starting the second half with a 16-5 run to take a 49-39 lead. A few minutes later, Indiana had cut the lead to 55-49 and George had the ball on a fast break ahead of the field. Hinrich, though, caught him from behind and looked as if he was going to give an intentional foul. Instead, Hinrich stripped the ball and the Bulls headed in the opposite direction as George complained that he was fouled. The Bulls completed the four-point swing on Gibsons dunk to make it 57-49 with just more than 4 minutes left in the third quarter. The Bulls took a 64-56 lead into the fourth after scoring 31 points in the third. They had balanced scoring in the quarter with Dunleavy and Hinrich each tallying seven points. Carlos Boozer, Butler and Gibson added five apiece. The Bulls were never seriously threatened in the fourth and held on for a relatively comfortable win. NOTES: The Bulls posted a 110-94 victory in Indianas only previous visit to the United Center this season on Nov.16. Indiana won both games at home as the teams split the season series. ... Pacers coach Frank Vogel when asked if Hibbert was the NBA Defensive Player of the Year: "Hands down. Hes the best rim-protector on the best defence in the league. I think thats who the award should go to. Ill be very disappointed if he doesnt get the award this year." With Michael Crabtree the target again, too.Sherman set up the only touchdown of the game with another key defensive play in this heated rivalry, then made a second interception with the 49ers driving late, and the Seahawks ended a five-game losing streak on San Franciscos home field. The second one was pretty entertaining. I was laughing the whole time, Sherman said. They threw it. I said, Way to be, way to be.Sherman and Crabtree were at the centre of the decisive play in Januarys NFC title game, when Sherman tipped the ball to Malcolm Smith for an interception with less than a minute remaining in the Seahawks 23-17 victory. Sherman later called Crabtree mediocre.Asked about Crabtree on Thursday, Sherman quipped: History? What history? The Seahawks kept Crabtree and quarterback Colin Kaepernick off balance all night. He said he was throwing to the open man. He didnt care who was out there, Sherman said of Kaepernick. I was the open man.Russell Wilson threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Robert Turbin in the first quarter, and the Seahawks (8-4) won by the same score as their victory over first-place Arizona five days earlier.Big wins, division opponents, and these games count as two to me, safety Earl Thomas said. Were playing together, man. Thats whats so powerful. ... It felt good, it felt like we were alive. Here are five things of note from the Seahawks first visit to new $1.3 billion Levis Stadium:BIG-GAME SHERMAN: It was 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh who turned Sherman into a defensive back during his days at Stanford. Now, hes one of the best.Sherman had the fourth two-interception game of his career with his 22nd and 23rd picks since 2011, most in the NFL.Might these games mean just a little more to Sherman? It could, Seahawks outside linebacker Bruce Irvin said. That was his college coach, the Crabtree incident last year. Im pretty sure beating the Niners means a lot more to him than the rest of us.ANGRY OWNER: In the waning momeents with thousands of red seats already empty, 49ers CEO Jed York posted on Twitter: Thank you (hashtag)49ersfaithful for coming out strong tonight.dddddddddddd This performance wasnt acceptable. I apologize for that.Kaepernick, whose team has reached three straight NFC title games, couldnt argue. San Francisco (7-5) had a three-game winning streak snapped. Its not acceptable, he said. We didnt perform well. We have a much higher standard for ourselves. ... We have to win out in order to have a shot to get into the playoffs.Even general manager Trent Baalkes daughter, Cassie, apparently got into the Twitter discussion about the teams struggles, calling out offensive co-ordinator Greg Roman. The tweet was quickly removed.Greg Roman can take a hike..the 49ers dont want you no more, the tweet said.NO-SHOW OFFENSE: Left tackle Joe Staley didnt mince words about how awful San Franciscos offence was.We had zero good plays. Zero, Staley said. The 49ers were held to three points or fewer for the first time since a 29-3 Week 2 loss at Seattle last year. And they still must face the Seahawks in 17 days at CenturyLink Field.Kaepernick had the second-lowest passer rating of his career at 36.7, with his only lower mark a 20.1 at Seattle last year. Kaepernick was 16 of 29 for 121 yards, and the 49ers were outgained 379-164.Weve got to reboot, come back and win them all, Harbaugh said.WHAT HOME FIELD? Much of the crowd went home early, so it hardly felt like much of an advantage for the 49ers with any kind of additional noise level.Nothing like what Seattle is used to with its deafening 12th Man. Sherman not only criticized the home crowd for leaving early, but also for yelling vulgar insults throughout. He said someone tossed a bottle as the Seahawks left the field after the game.It didnt matter if we were on the road or not, Thomas said. We silenced the crowd.PENALTY FEST: This one could have been far more lopsided.Seattle committed 14 penalties for 105 yards, including an offensive pass interference by Turbin that negated Paul Richardsons 7-yard touchdown catch midway through the third quarter.Other than this game being a penalty game we pretty much did what were able to do, so it was really good, coach Pete Carroll said. All I can tell you is were working at it. Were playing really hard and really aggressive, so its kind of like last year. Were pretty good at leading and last year, too, in penalties.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP_NFLWholesale MLB Orioles JerseysRed Sox Jerseys From ChinaDiscount Yankees Jerseys OnlineRays Jerseys For SaleBlue Jays Jerseys From ChinaWholesale MLB White Sox JerseysIndians Jerseys For SaleTigers Jerseys From ChinaWholesale MLB Astros JerseysCheap Baseball Angels JerseysAthletics Jerseys From ChinaMariners Jerseys For SaleCheap Baseball Rangers JerseysBraves Jerseys For SaleDiscount Marlins Jerseys OnlineDiscount Mets Jerseys OnlinePhillies Jerseys From ChinaWholesale MLB Nationals JerseysCubs Jerseys From ChinaDiscount Reds Jerseys OnlineBrewers Jerseys From ChinaWholesale MLB Pirates JerseysWholesale MLB Cardinals JerseysDiamondbacks Jerseys For SaleRockies Jerseys For SaleDiscount Dodgers Jerseys OnlineDiscount Padres Jerseys OnlineGiants Jerseys For Sale ' ' '
